Fundashon Marshe recently organized an information session for the entrepreneurs of Marshe Nobo. During this session, the entrepreneurs received updates about the developments related to the relocation and renovation of Marshe Nobo. Additionally, there was extensive discussion on action points currently requiring attention, possible solutions for these issues, and the progress of ongoing measures.
The director of Fundashon Marshe, Liezelot Braaf, and Market Manager, Dianne Schenk, addressed the entrepreneurs. In addition to providing information about the renovation plan and the status of the relocation, they also explained the steps that Fundashon Marshe, in collaboration with the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) and the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO), will take to support the entrepreneurs. This includes plans for promotional campaigns aimed at encouraging both Curaçao residents and tourists to continue visiting the entrepreneurs at their temporary location.
The relocation of Marshe Nobo was completed on Friday, September 12, with the final entrepreneur moving to the temporary location. As of Sunday, September 15, the Marshe Nobo parking lot has been closed until further notice, and Marshe Nobo is no longer accessible to the public. Fundashon Marshe advises parking at Waaigat.
The maintenance and renovation of the market aim to modernize Marshe Nobo, increase safety for users and visitors, and improve hygiene. The goal is to give Marshe Nobo a new identity with attractive features beyond its current market function. This will draw visitors throughout the day (including evening hours), stimulate more economic activity, and contribute to the revitalization of our city center.
